I woke up today with a burden on my heart. I felt i needed to focus on something today, Something that i struggled with in the earlier stages of my relationship with Christ.
Do you ever find you self trying to distant your self from Christ? Maybe because you don't feel worthy enough? You feel you wanna clean up your track record before running back to him. I use to often find myself in this boat, it was almost like I wanted to show God that just worthy enough to be one of his humbled slaves. And when i felt good enough, maybe my track record was looking a little better. Then i would give my everything to him, Just to show how sorry i truly was.
But what i didn't realize was God wasn't looking for a slave. He's looking to be the loving father the bible speaks of him being. A father like in Luke 15:11-32, The story of the prodigal son. It takes faith to believe God is as loving as the father in the story in luke ," Was him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him" - luke 15:20. The father made it very clear that his son was forgiven. In the same way the lord loves us, He has invited his children back into his life without bitterness or requiring penance and guilt. Here are a few verses that really helped me under.
"Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus"- Romans 8:39
"There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus"- Romans 8:1
"His is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins"- 1 John 1:9
We have been adopted into the family of God. & Now He desires to be our father! We need to call out to God our father! Receive the love and forgiveness He has promised to us! We need to peruse that intimate relationship to a deeper level then we ever though possible. As a favorite author of mine ones said " You will wonder, Does everyone feel this loved by God?"

I think the reason we (people) have such a hard time accepting the fact that God loves us even though we are not perfect is because we don't know how to forgive ourselves. It seems so hard to except the idea that we are loved enough that our wrongs have been forgotten by god when we ask. How can we forgive ourselves?
ReplyDeleteI will focus on that in my next blog. Just keep your eyes peeled. thank you for asking!
